1. “Will this conference be virtual?”

Yes, the 2022 Black Health Matters Conference will be entirely virtual.

2. How are workshops different from the panels?”

Panels will consist of two or more speakers responding to a prepared list of questions from the moderator as well as questions from the audience members in the last ~15 minutes of the event. The Panels will be in Zoom Webinar format. That means attendees will not be on video or have the ability to unmute themselves and speak. Instead they will be able to submit questions for the moderators to read and ask the panelists.

Workshops will consist of 1 speaker leading an interactive presentation. Workshops will be in Zoom Meeting format so attendees will be able to show themselves on video and ask questions to the speaker directly by unmuting themselves and also still have the option to submit typed questions that can be read by the workshop host.

3. “I’ve already registered - how do I access the online events?”

If you have already registered then you should have received an email from our virtual conference platform Whova prompting you to create an account on their platform that you will use to access the conference programming. If you can not find such an email, please check your spam folder and trash.

Otherwise you can download the Whova mobile app or go to this link, https://whova.com/portal/webapp/hucr_202202/sign_up, and log in using the email you registered with in order to get access to all of the online content. 4. “Will attendees be able to ask questions of conference speakers?”

Yes, attendees will be able to ask questions of conference speakers. The keynote speaker and panel events are in Zoom Webinar format so attendees will be able to type questions into the chat that will be asked by the moderators.

The workshops are in Zoom Meeting format, where attendees can have their video on and can unmute themselves. During those events, attendees will be able to ask questions directly but will also have the option to type and have their question asked by a moderator.

5. “Will there be any opportunity to network with fellow attendees?”

When you log into Whova you will be promoted to add information to your profile which can be made public so you can see the profiles of other attendees and others will be able to see your profile.
