The Black Health Matters Conference will take place from February 8-9, 2020 at Harvard University.

This year’s theme is “Community Empowerment”. We will be exploring how community members themselves can be key players in improving the well-being of their community.

This conference aims to provide attendees with an understanding of how to develop interdisciplinary approaches to addressing health issues within the Black Community.

Our Goal

The Black Health Matters Conference will bring together students and speakers from across the country to explore how past and present sociopolitical climates have impacted the health of Black communities. We will analyze health disparities faced by Black people by shedding light on specific issues ranging from social stigma surrounding mental health to the effects of healthcare policy. We aim to bring together attendees from a variety of backgrounds to discuss interdisciplinary approaches to tackling these issues.
